Sky Bet Championship duo QPR and Fulham have entered the race for sought-after striker Dwight Gayle, with Crystal Palace eager to sell the ex-Peterborough United player.
According to London 24, the London-based pair have declared their interest to join Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Bristol City in the chase for Gayle.
Bristol City had a bid in the region of £6 million accepted for the player on Tuesday although it would appear that the move is no closer with Gayle seemingly holding out for a better offer.
The chance to stay in the capital could be an attractive proposition for Gayle which could put Fulham and QPR in a great position to land their target.
The R’s in particular are set to be in the market for a striker due to the imminent departure of England striker Charlie Austin.
Gayle is way down the pecking order at Palace following the arrival of summer recruits Patrick Bamford and Conor Wickham to Selhurst Park.
Gayle possesses speed and an eye for goal and would be an excellent addition to any Championship club, but it remains to be seen whether these linked clubs can stump up the sort of fee needed to lure the ex-Peterborough United frontman to their club.
