QPR have completed the signing of former AFC Bournemouth midfielder, Marc Pugh on a one-year deal.

The 32-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with Eddie Howe's side came to an end in the summer, and he'll be delighted to have found a new club ahead of the upcoming season.

Sky Sports had previously claimed that Pugh had agreed personal terms with the London-based club, and QPR will be pleased to get this deal over the line.

Pugh spent last season on loan with Championship side, Hull City, making 14 appearances, scoring three times under Nigel Adkins as the Tigers finished 13th in the Championship table.

The midfielder will be hoping that he can recapture the form that saw him play a key role for AFC Bournemouth when they won promotion to the Premier League in the 2014/2015 season.

It came as no surprise to see Pugh departing Bournemouth earlier in the transfer window, with Eddie Howe having better options available to him ahead of next term.

Pugh could be in line to make his competitive debut against Stoke City on the opening day of the Championship campaign next weekend.

The Verdict:

I have my reservations about this one.

Pugh is past his best in my opinion, but could be a useful player to call upon if needed by Mark Warburton for QPR next season on a rotational basis.

He's good enough for the Championship though, but it does strike me as a slight 'panic buy', as QPR could have had this deal completed earlier into the transfer window if they were that desperate to land his signature.
