QPR are set to complete the signing of Irish midfielder Paul Smyth, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
The report claims a fee of around £90k has been agreed between the clubs for the transfer of the 19-year-old, who will move from Irish side Linfield to the English Championship in what will be a huge opportunity for the youngster.
The Hoops have started the season in decent form, taking seven points from their opening four games before a trip to Cardiff was on the cards at the time of writing.
The signing of a youngster from over the sea in Ireland represents minimal risk for Ian Holloway who will be hoping he has unearthed another Irish gem. The English game has seen numerous Irish players make the grade in the Championship and above, with the likes of Damien Duff and Robbie Keane just two of the more high profile names in this bracket.
Smyth will be hoping to impress and earn a place in the squad at Loftus Road as he looks to prove himself in England.
