England under-20 boss Paul Simpson named his squad for the upcoming matches against Italy and Czech Republic.

Simpson has named QPR's Eberechi Eze in his squad for the international matches next weekend.

The youngster has fully justified his call-up with a number of impressive performances to his name this season in the Championship.

Eze's inclusion will put to bed any rumours over the midfielder's allegiance, having previously trained with the Nigeria senior team.

Speaking to QPR's official website, Eze expressed his delight at the call up to the England under-20 squad: “You want to be called up for international football and it is a great honour to have been, it’s a really good milestone for me.

“It will be a good experience, I’ve never been involved before so I am looking forward to seeing what it is like.”

Eze and his QPR teammates take on Derby County on Saturday and will be hoping a result against Frank Lampard's side can kick-start their season in the right direction.

The Verdict

Eze has certainly deserved his call-up to Paul Simpson's squad and will be keen to progress through the ranks of the England youth set-up as quickly as he has through the QPR ranks.

With three goals already to his name this season, I feel as though both Eze and Nakhi Wells are going to be the source of goals for QPR this season, with their pace and trickery already causing numerous teams problems.

After proving himself at Wycombe Wanderers for half of last season, he took that impressive form into the last half of QPR's league campaign and showed he could take the step up to the Championship.

QPR will have an almighty fight on their hands to keep hold of Eze if he keeps these impressive performances up this season.
