Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Alex Smithies remains confident he can achieve his goals at Loftus Road, despite interest from the Premier League over the past few months.

In a report for Get West London, the impressive 'keeper spoke of his happiness at the club under Ian Holloway, while insisting he can do everything he's wanted to do in his career with Rangers.

"I hope so. It's a very tight division and I think back-to-back wins soon pushes you up the league, especially in the early stages and I think if we can get that then we'll soon move up towards the top end and there's no reason why we can't be in and around the play-offs." said Smithies when asked if he could reach his goals with the club.

Interest in the 27-year-old has been high following a series of impressive performances for his club, and both Huddersfield and Bournemouth are credited with having an interest in the goalkeeper following another excellent campaign last year.

Smithies is well thought of in the Championship after being one of the most consistent performers in recent seasons following a move to London from Huddersfield Town. However, a move to the Premier League could be too tempting for the 'keeper to turn down if the R's accept a bid.
