Nottingham Forest ran out 4-0 winners at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium against ten-men QPR on Wednesday evening.

The Reds took the lead through Tobias Figueiredo, before Lee Wallace was dismissed just minutes into the second-half. Lewis Grabban then netted the second of the game with just nine minutes remaining.

Joao Carvalho then netted a stunning solo goal before Alfa Semedo added a fourth shortly after to put the icing on the cake for Sabri Lamouchi's side.

QPR starting the game somewhat slowly with Lewis Grabban and Albert Adomah looking lively going forward.

The hosts almost gifted Forest the lead on the night as Lee Wallace’s sloppy pass across his own penalty area was intercepted by Lewis Grabban who could only fire straight at Joe Lumley in the QPR goal.

Forest made their early dominance count as Tobias Figueiredo headed home from close range to give the visitors a deserved lead at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Mark Warburton won’t be pleased with the manner of the opener, as the central defender out-jumped is marker with relative ease at the back post.

QPR grew into the contest on the night, with a swift counter-attacking move almost seeing Ilias Chair get a shot away, but the Forest defence remained well-organised.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side almost doubled that lead after 32 minutes but Sammy Ameobi couldn’t get enough on his deft flick from Grabban’s pass with the goal gaping.

QPR’s first real chance of the game came shortly after this as Ryan Manning let fly from all of 25 yards, with his well-struck effort being parried by Brice Samba in the Nottingham Forest goal.

The Hoops seemed to find some momentum with good work from both Eberechi Eze and Lee Wallace seeing Nahki Wells’ close-range effort saved well from Samba.

Forest would have certainly been the happier of the two teams as the half-time whistle was blown, and Mark Warburton will have known that there was work to do for his side if they were to get anything from this one.

The second-half got off to the worst possible start for QPR as some slack defending allowed Joe Lolley to find some space in front fo goal, but he was held back by Lee Wallace.

The former Rangers full-back was given his marching orders for the coming together and left Mark Warburton’s side with a mountain to climb on the night.

The hosts almost got back into it though shortly after the dismissal with a surging run from Todd Kane seeing his cross met by Josh Scowen who couldn’t quite direct his header on target from inside the penalty area.

The Nottingham Forest fans will be have been pleased with what they’d seen from their side, but they would have know that a one-goal lead is never enough for any team, regardless of whether they’re a man down or not.

They got the second goal they had been pushing for though as great work form Sammy Ameobi saw him beat his man before providing an inch-perfect cross for Lewis Grabban, who netted his eighth goal of the season from four yards out.

As QPR pushed for a way back into the game, it provided Forest with more chances on the counter attack, with Joao Carvalho and Ameobi continuing to be a real threat to the Hoops defence.

Forest added a third just seven minutes after Grabban's goal though, as Joao Carvalho netted a stunning goal as he beat two QPR players on the byline before slotting home with the outside of his foot to put some gloss on the win.

But they weren't done there as Joe Lumley spilled Matty Cash's shot from distance, with Sammy Ameobi on hand to square the ball to Alfa Semedo who couldn't miss from a yard out.

The win moves Forest up to fourth in the Championship table, whilst QPR are now sat 16th after this thumping on Wednesday.
