Nottingham Forest guided themselves to a first league victory since the beginning of February as the home side overcome visitors Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon in a very dull end-to-end encounter.

Gary Brazil didn't have many selection issues ahead of welcoming the Seagulls to the City Ground, with Chris Cohen returning to the starting eleven having been awarded a place on the bench against Wigan last week after recovering from an injury.

January arrival Zach Clough put the relegation-threatened team ahead 15 minutes after the interval after smashing from the centre of the box.

Ben Osborn doubled Nottingham Forest's advantage over the promotion chasers after receiving the ball from Brighton's goalkeeper, who committed a mistake, and the midfielder put it into an empty net to make sure all three points stayed at home.

Clough definitely ensured the victory after getting his second goal of the afternoon. Substitute Ben Brereton was fouled in the box by Brighton defender Lewis Dunk and the former Bolton man scored from the spot.

That result means Forest stay 18th in the Championship table but now sit six points above the drop, relieving some pressure.

Here's how the home fans reacted to that brilliant victory on Twitter....
