Alan Hutton has praised the idea of Rangers signing Bright Osayi-Samuel on a pre-contract in the January window from QPR, as quoted by Football Insider.

The young winger has progressed nicely at the Hoops after some loan spells away in his formative years and last season we really saw him come to the fore for the club.

Indeed, that has seen him linked with moves away and, with him having less than a year left on his current contract with QPR, Rangers have been touted as looking to get a pre-contract deal sorted for him.

Certainly, that could be considered a bit of a coup for the Gers if they manage to get him for very little outlay and Hutton appears to be all for it:

“A guy with good numbers last season, he’s obviously a great talent, I think there will be other teams looking at him, to be honest, I don’t think Rangers will be the only ones but they’re definitely looking for that type of player that unlocks defences, can score a goal, can assist.

“I do think they need other options, I do think they rely quite heavily on the likes of Hagi and Kent – Kent for me is way out in front, I think we need more from Hagi.

“I think that’s where they’re looking for a little bit of competition, in those type of areas, and these are players that are definitely going to improve the squad.”

The Verdict

Osayi-Samuel has been playing for QPR despite all of the speculation around him and Hoops fans will hope that that is a sign he is going to remain at the club for a little while yet.

The Rangers rumours are not going away any time soon by the looks of things, though, and so this one could yet rumble on until the end of this window at the very least and potentially until January if he does not pen a deal with the R's.
