Preston North End striker, Emil Riis Jakobsen, has been described as a unique talent, with Ryan Lowe claiming there aren't many like him kicking around anymore.

Riis Jakobsen was signed by Alex Neil from Randers in the summer, with the striker offered a second chance in the EFL after a failed spell with Derby County earlier in his career.

He's made quite the impact with the Lancashire club too, impressing for Preston and leading the line with real purpose.

Preston North End quiz: Can you name the club’s top goalscorer from the last 13 seasons?

His first goal came last night in an impressive win over Reading FC at the Madejski Stadium, with the performance of Riis Jakobsen catching the eye of EFL pundit, Ryan Lowe.

Speaking to EFL on Quest, Lowe said: “There’s not many like him now, he’s always on the shoulder, knows where the balls gonna go. Fair play to the boy, he was rejected at Derby County and tonight grabbed his first league goal of the Championship.”

The 22-year-old has assisted Preston on a fine run of form in the Championship, particularly away from Deepdale.

Neil's side have won their last four away games, adding to their draw with Norwich City during the opening month of the season.

All 13 of Preston's points have come on the road this season, with Neil's side struggling to find their way at home.

They are on the road again this coming weekend against Rotherham United.

The Verdict

Riis Jakobsen is a striker that is really, really suited to the Championship.

He's strong, direct and not afraid to run with defenders, which actually resulted in his goal last night against Reading.

You can't imagine that Championship defenders enjoy coming up against him and Reading certainly struggled to deal with his threat last night.

Building on that goal is his next aim, but the early signs are all good.
