Hull City are interested in a loan move for Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei, as detailed in a report from The Irish Sun

The 19-year-old, who is highly regarded by the Premier League outfit, could be allowed to temporarily depart for the second half of the campaign in order to continue his progression.

Ebiowei has appeared three times already this season off the bench in England's top flight, and should a second-tier move come about, he will be hoping for regular game time.

Sharing his thoughts on the young winger and his situation at Palace, amidst Hull's interest, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: "Yeah, well, he's worked with Liam before at Derby. So it's always easier to go and work for somebody who's familiar, who you have a rapport with and had a certain amount of success with.

"Crystal Palace at the moment are struggling for numbers. I'm sure they want to get him out on loan but at this moment in time, they've got injuries.

"But I'm sure that's something they'll be looking to do, getting him out and getting him playing because he's a young lad, he's only 19, and you know, to progress you need to be playing football week in week out.

"So, I'm sure that's something that Crystal Palace will entertain once they're in a position that they've got enough numbers."

The verdict

Ebiowei is a talented individual who possesses all the right tools to enjoy a successful career with the Eagles, however, at this stage a loan spell away in the Championship is probably the best option for him.

Featuring 16 times in the Championship last time out with Derby County, where Liam Rosenior was assistant to Wayne Rooney, Ebiowei has proven that he can meet the demands of plying his trade within a senior set up.

It would be no surprise if further interest in the winger surfaces as the January transfer window edges closer, with Ebiowei being an exciting talent who plays without fear.

This would represent a strong signing for the Tigers as Rosenior looks to shape his squad for what remains of this campaign.
