David Prutton is expecting both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff City’s 100% record to end this weekend, when the two clubs meet at Molineux, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has sat on the fence and predicted that the Sky Bet Championship’s top-two play out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Wolves and Cardiff - along with Ipswich Town – have picked up maximum points from their three fixtures so far this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have put in some big performances during their opening three fixtures, picking up two victories on the road.

Wolves started the season with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Molineux, before trips to Derby County and Hull City saw Nuno’s side record 2-0 and 3-2 victories respectively.

Cardiff have also started the 2017/18 with a magnificent three victories from three fixtures, with Neil Warnock’s side surprising many by setting the pace at the top of the table.

The Bluebirds started with a late victory over Burton Albion on the opening day of the season, but have since gone from strength-to-strength with back-to-back home victories over Aston Villa and Sheffield United.

Cardiff’s 3-0 trouncing of a well-fancied Aston Villa side has perhaps been the standout performance of the season so far.

The Verdict

This is a mouth-watering clash, and although we are only three games into the new season, this weekend’s fixture will give both clubs a chance to lay down a major marker in the race for promotion.

Wolves will fancy their chances of another three-points at Molineux after impressing on the road, but Warnock’s side will not come and sit back, they will themselves want to continue their impressive start.

However, Ruben Neves and co should just have too much for Warnock’s spirited side this weekend.
