David Prutton is expecting Leeds United to record a third consecutive draw this weekend when they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland, reports Sky Sports.
Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted a high-scoring game between Sunderland and Leeds, with the points shared following a 2-2 draw.
Simon Grayson’s side have had 1-1 draws with both Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday, which have come either side of a 3-1 victory over Norwich City, leaving the Black Cats unbeaten at this stage of the season.
Leeds are also unbeaten under Thomas Christiansen, but have not picked up a victory since their opening day triumph over Bolton Wanderers, where the Whites looked impressive in a 3-2 win.
Since then, Leeds have recorded 0-0 draws with both Preston North End and Fulham, with Christiansen’s side failing to pick up maximum points in back-to-back fixtures at Elland Road.
Leeds will hope to have Chris Wood available for the trip to Sunderland, despite the New Zealand international attracting interest from the Premier League this summer.
The Whites have recently moved to offer the striker a three-year contract extension.
Both Sunderland and Leeds have impressed at the start of the Championship season, and despite neither side expected to start strongly under new management, both remain unbeaten after three fixtures.
Leeds held out a strong looking Fulham side on Tuesday evening, and will head to the North East looking for the three-points that will make their back-to-back home draws look like magnificent results.
However, they will face a strong Sunderland side, who we believe will hand Leeds a real test and end their unbeaten start.
