Pundit places timeline on potential Reading manager change

Former Premier League defender Daniel Gabbidon has predicted that Mark Hughes will be named as Reading’s new manager ‘by the end of the week’.
Jose Manuel Gomes’ is on the brink of losing his job at Championship side Reading, after a 1-0 loss to Bristol City at the weekend saw his team fall in the relegation zone in time for the international break.
It’s widely expected that Gomes’ won’t be in charge for their next game at home to Preston in two weeks time, and one man leading the pack to succeed him is Mark Hughes.
The former Blackburn, Manchester City, Fulham, QPR, Stoke and Southampton manager has been out of work since being sacked by Southampton in December last year.
He’s been out of the limelight since but has recently reappeared as a candidate for the Reading role.
Today, retired Welsh footballer Daniel Gabbidon took to Twitter to give his opinion on Hughes’ potential appointment at Reading:
Mark Bowen recommending Mark Hughes to the board? or did Hughes call in one of the many favours owed back to him by Bowen for taking the man everywhere he went! Whichever one he be in there by end of next week. #Reading

The verdict
Plenty of Reading fans are begging for the board not to sack Gomes after seeing that Hughes is being lined-up as his replacement.
His notoriety with relegation can only spell bad omens for Reading, but Gabbidon thinks it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.
Should Jose Gomes be sacked by Reading?
