Alex Bruce believes it would be a "fantastic" opportunity for Jack Clarke to test himself in the SPFL, amid speculation linking him with a move to Celtic.

The winger signed for Tottenham from Leeds United in the summer, but the winger returned to Elland Road on a season-long loan deal immediately after signing for Spurs.

The 19-year-old failed to make a single starting appearance for Leeds in the Championship, though, and joined QPR on loan in January after being recalled by the North London club.

Which QPR manager signed each of these 12 players?

Clarke has since struggled for regular game time under Mark Warburton; all four of his league appearances have come from off the bench, and his only start came in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday.

Clarke has recently been linked with a move to Celtic, as per Football Insider, who claim that Neil Lennon is set to reignite his January interest in the player.

Former Kilmarnock and Hull City defender Alex Bruce has reacted to the speculation linking Clarke with the Bhoys, and says it would be a "fantastic" opportunity for him to join Celtic.

He said: "I would recommend anyone to go to a club like Celtic to get game time.

"It’s a great club, any young lad who’s got the opportunity to go and play anywhere, I would recommend just to go and do it and if you can join a club like Celtic in the process then fantastic. I’m all for it."

The Verdict

After a breakthrough season under Marcelo Bielsa last term, Clarke has failed to make an impact.

When he returned to Leeds, it looked like his mentality had changed and that ultimately led to his departure, and he has failed to impress since joining QPR.

Joining a big club like Celtic and winning trophies and winning games could be the springboard he needs to develop as a player.
