Sheffield United will be looking to make a memorable season an even better one this weekend, as they look to lift the Sky Bet Championship title.

The Blades' long-awaited return to the Premier League was confirmed last weekend, as Chris Wilder's men defeated Ipswich Town by two goals to nil at Bramall Lane, a day before Aston Villa held Leeds United to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

There were celebrations all across the red and white parts of Sheffield, but the Blades will be looking to go one step further this weekend by lifting the Championship title.

Crowning themselves as champions is definitely a possibility for United - they need to pick up three points against Stoke City, and hope that Aston Villa can do them a favour for the second week running by beating Norwich City.

And ahead of what is shaping up to be an eventful final day, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that the Blades will go on to lift the trophy on Sunday afternoon.

He said: "Chris Wilder is a driven individual, though, and he will want his team to win at Stoke and give themselves a chance of silverware. They are three points behind Norwich, with a better goal difference, so the title can still be won.

"I fancy Sheffield United to turn up at Stoke and nick all three points, and Norwich have a difficult trip to Aston Villa. You don't know how many changes Dean Smith will make in that one with the play-offs coming up, but I have a feeling they could sneak the win and give the Blades the opportunity to claim the title."

Stoke go into the fixture on the back of winning just one of their last 10 league games - Nathan Jones' men sit 16th in the Sky Bet Championship table.

The Verdict

Winning the league is definitely a possibility for Sheffield United this weekend, but I just can't see it happening in all honesty.

I can't see Norwich losing against Villa - I imagine that Dean Smith will rest a few key players ahead of the play-offs, whilst Farke's side don't have to do that.

But, anything is possible, and United will fight until the end in their pursuit of crowning themselves as champions.
