David Prutton is expecting Sheffield Wednesday to pile the pressure on Leonid Slutsky this weekend, with Carlos Carvalhal’s side recording a victory over Hull City at Hillsborough, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted free-falling Hull to suffer a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday, who are looking to build on a six-match unbeaten run this weekend.

Slutsky’s Tigers head to Hillsborough in 20th, sitting just four points outside the Championship’s relegation zone heading into the weekend’s round of fixtures.

Hull are without a victory since late September, and eight fixtures without tasting victory has piled the pressure on Slutsky at the KCOM Stadium.

Despite not finding himself in the same position as Slutsky, Carvalhal is under equal pressure at Hillsborough, with his Sheffield Wednesday side way short of where many expected them to be in the Championship this season.

The Owls currently sit 11th in the table, and despite their six-match unbeaten run, remain six points adrift of the play-off zone.

Wednesday are on a lengthy unbeaten run, but have drawn their last three fixtures in the Championship, two of which have finished goalless draws, including last weekend’s stalemate with Reading.

The Verdict

Hull find themselves on a slippery slope, and Slutsky is surely edging closer to the exit door at the KCOM Stadium after a disastrous two months.

Whilst Carvalhal is also under pressure, it is not the same kind of pressure as Slutsky, and he will be confident of picking up a victory this weekend.

Tomorrow’s fixture is the perfect opportunity for the Owls to extend their unbeaten run.
