David Prutton is expecting Barnsley to pick up a positive result this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship when they face Middlesbrough, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted the Tykes to hold Boro to a 2-2 draw on Saturday, adding to the pressure of Garry Monk in the North East.

Boro have endured a mixed start to the 2017/18 campaign, with Monk’s side unable to produce the form that many expected them to at the start of the Championship season.

The Teessiders have picked up just two points from their last three fixtures, and entered last week’s international break on a three game winless streak.

Monk’s side sit 11th in the table, having picked up just 16 points from a possible 33 so far this season.

Barnsley, who currently sit 18th, enter the fixture having picked up two positive results prior to the international break.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Queens Park Rangers the last time they played at Oakwell, but will be full of confidence following a 3-1 victory over Millwall at the Den in their last outing.

The Verdict

This is a huge call from Prutton, with may expecting Boro to pick up all three points on their trip to South Yorkshire.

Granted, Boro are not hitting the heights many expected them to, but Monk’s squad still has so much quality and could undoubtedly turn on the style at any time.

It should be a close game at Oakwell, but we are still expecting an away victory.
