David Prutton is expecting Portsmouth to return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One this weekend when they face Rotherham United at Fratton Park, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted that Portsmouth will run out 2-1 winners over Rotherham on Sunday afternoon.

With the Premier League and Championship taking a break this weekend all focus will be on League One and Two, with Portsmouth one particular team that will be on the radar, as they continue their rise back up the leagues.

Kenny Jackett’s side started their return to League One in the best possible way, picking up a victory on the opening day of the season, but since then, Pompey have failed to win in the league and have just five-points from their opening four fixtures.

Back-to-back 1-1 draws with Walsall and Wigan Athletic will have given Pompey some confidence heading into this weekend, when they come up against a Rotherham side who are without a victory sine August 12th.

Paul Warne’s side defeated Southend United 5-0 on the second weekend of the season, but are yet to taste victory in League One since that day, losing back-to-back fixtures against Peterborough United and Charlton Athletic.

The Verdict

With all eyes on Portsmouth this weekend, it really is the perfect opportunity for Jackett’s side to get back to winning ways against a poor Rotherham side live on television.

The pressure will be on both sides to pick up three-points and it promises to be an exciting encounter at Fratton Park.

If Portsmouth can make a fast start and take the pressure away from themselves, they should have too much for Rotherham on Sunday and pick up the victory.
