David Prutton is expecting Leeds United’s improved form to continue this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship, when Thomas Christiansen’s side travel to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers, reports Sky Sports.
Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted Leeds to walk away from Loftus Road with three points, thanks to a 2-1 victory over QPR.
Leeds have responded brilliantly following November’s international break, with Christiansen’s side managing to pick up seven points from a tricky four fixtures, helping them move back into play-off contention.
Victories over Middlesbrough and Barnsley have significantly improved the mood at Elland Road, and despite a crushing defeat to Wolves, last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa has left Leeds eighth.
Christiansen’s side are five points adrift of the top-six, but will be looking to cut that gap this weekend, when they travel to London to face QPR.
Ian Holloway’s side have struggled for consistency this season, and have not tasted victory in their last five fixtures.
QPR’s last three points came back in October, when Holloway masterminded a 1-0 victory over Leeds’ play-off rivals, Sheffield United.
The Verdict
On paper, Leeds should be taking three points from QPR, but Loftus Road is a tricky place to go, with Holloway’s side already claiming some big scalps this season.
Of course, QPR are not in magnificent form, but they will be confident of ending Leeds’ positive run.
However, Christiansen’s side appear to have turned a corner at last, and their quality should be enough to pick up another three points this weekend.
