David Prutton is expecting Cardiff City to lose ground in the Sky Bet Championship’s title race this weekend, by drawing with Millwall in the Welsh capital tomorrow, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted that Cardiff will draw 1-1 with Millwall at the Cardiff City Stadium tomorrow, which combined with his prediction of a Wolves victory, will see Neil Warnock’s side fall behind in the early race for the title.

Cardiff head into the fixture having lost just once in their last six fixtures, which has helped the Bluebirds maintain their fantastic start to the season. Warnock’s side bounced back from a defeat against Birmingham City last weekend when they faced Middlesbrough, with Joe Ralls’ late penalty securing all three points for Warnock’s side and helping them maintain their place in the top-two.

Millwall also enter tomorrow’s fixture on the back of a victory, having beaten Birmingham 2-0 at The Den last weekend, which meant Neil Harris’ side returned to winning ways after back-to-back defeats against Barnsley and Brentford.

The Verdict

Cardiff will be favourites at home this weekend, but will face a stern test against Millwall, who have so far impressed on their return to the Championship.

Warnock will view this weekend as an opportunity to stretch a lead on either Leeds or Sheffield United, who face each other tonight, and will have his side geared up to win three points.

It will be a close game, but it is hard to see past Warnock’s side picking up three points.
