David Prutton is expecting Aston Villa to drop two points this evening when they face Burton Albion in the Sky Bet Championship, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted that Steve Bruce’s side will draw 1-1 with Burton this evening at the Pirelli Stadium.

Burton have bounced back magnificently from their 5-0 hammering at Leeds United earlier this month, picking up five points from three fixtures and conceding on just one occasion in the Championship.

Goalless draws with Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers have come either side of an impressive 2-1 victory over Fulham, in their last fixture at the Pirelli Stadium.

Prutton is expecting them to continue their unbeaten run, despite coming up against an in-form Aston Villa, who are beginning to find their feet in the Championship and climb the table.

Bruce’s side have picked up back-to-back victories over the last two weeks, handing Barnsley a 3-0 defeat at Oakwell, before backing that up with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

Those two victories have helped Villa climb to ninth in the Championship table, and they enter tonight’s clash just two points outside the play-offs.

The Verdict

This is a big call from Prutton, with Villa looking like they have turned a corner under Bruce in recent weeks, after two impressive victories.

However, whilst Villa’s form is improving, so is Burton’s, with Nigel Clough’s side reacting brilliantly to their defeat at Elland Road and really tightening things up.

Villa will face a tough test this evening, but Bruce will have full confidence in his side, particularly after the way they played in their most recent away fixture, against Barnsley.

We believe it will be a tight game at the Pirelli this evening, but are still expecting Villa to pick up three points.
