The recent turnaround by Queens Park Rangers deserves real credit, according to Sam Parkin.

A disappointing first half of the season left the Hoops sitting perilously close to the Championship's relegation zone.

With the Ebere Eze leaving last summer and Bright Osayi-Samuel leaving the club in January there were doubts over the future direction of the club, but since then things have improved significantly.

Since their FA Cup third round defeat to Fulham QPR have won six of their last seven fixtures - a run which has pushed them up to a safe mid-table position in the league.

The latest result was a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the weekend, and discussing the performance Parkin was quick to hail the team's performance and upturn in form.

He did, however, admit that he didn't exactly see the turn in form coming.

Speaking during his appearance on EFL on Quest, Parkin said: “It’s a brilliant turnaround and one I didn’t see coming.

"They looked compact, hard to beat, a system that suits them, and the players have come in and done the business.”

The verdict

Queens Park Rangers deserve real credit for the way that they have turned their season around.

Things were looking gloomy for the Hoops at the turn of the year but since then things have changed drastically with the club now looking like they're capable of winning every game possible.

It remains to be seen what the rest of the season has in store for the club, but Mark Warburton will certainly be delighted.
