David Prutton is expecting Fulham’s automatic promotion hopes to be dented further this weekend, when they travel to the Den to face Millwall.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky Sports, Prutton is predicting an entertaining clash on Friday evening, with Millwall and Fulham to play out a 2-2 draw and Steve Morison to score the game’s first goal.

The London rivals are two of the Sky Bet Championship’s form sides heading into this weekend, with both in contention for promotion this season.

Millwall currently sit sixth in the Championship table, with an incredible run of form putting Neil Harris’ side in contention for the play-offs.

Last time out, the Lions picked up a valuable point against Sheffield United, which boosted their play-offs hopes further ahead of the run-in.

Whilst Millwall are looking to edge ahead of a number of clubs and clinch one of the remaining places in the play-offs, Fulham are seemingly in a two-way battle with Cardiff City in the race to join Wolves in the Premier League automatically.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side lost ground last weekend due to a 1-1 draw with Brentford, but still sit just a single point behind Cardiff heading into this weekend.

The Verdict

This is a huge game for both Millwall and Fulham, who have plenty to play for ahead of this weekend.

Millwall’s recent form, particularly at the Den, has been terrific, but Fulham will head there full of confidence and on a fine run.

It’s another Championship fixture that could go either way, but you’d expect to see Fulham struggle, like most have done, at Millwall.
