Former West Ham and Norwich City striker Dean Ashton has spoken to the Express about Leeds United's promotion hopes, highlighting what he thinks could leave the Whites short come May.

Ashton's comments, via an article in the Daily Star, will no doubt resonate with some Leeds fans, with the former England man highlighting the lack of depth in the Elland Road outfit's squad as a reason they could end up falling short at the end of the season.

“The one worry, though, that I have is that if they pick up a few injuries. Do they have the squad to cope with that at the moment?” said Ashton on the back of some positive comments about how well Leeds are doing.

However, despite the worry, Ashton has been impressed with the Whites and Marcelo Bielsa in the main, adding:

“What’s impressed me most about Leeds is how when they score the first goal, they always seem to take control of matches. Thats hard to do, particularly in the Championship. Teams usually come back but Leeds haven’t let them in."

Leeds are back in Championship action against Millwall today with a host of injuries to worry about. Both Roofe and Pablo Hernandez are out, while Patrick Bamford will miss up to four months after suffering injury playing for the under-23's.
