The Charlie Taylor transfer saga is quickly becoming a farce.

After manager Garry Monk revealed that the player had refused to play in their final game of the season against Wigan Athletic, it looked extremely likely that the full back would be on his way out of Elland Road.

Fans and management will undoubtedly be dismayed with this refusal, and surely Taylor now has no future at the club.

West Brom have been strongly linked with a move for the player, but manager Tony Pulis revealed a move would only materialise if an out of court settlement could be reached for the player.

Although out of contract, Taylor is under the age of 24, so Leeds would be entitled to a fee should the player leave the club on a free transfer.

The Elland Road side have offered Taylor a new deal, so will now command some form of payment for their academy graduate.

The left back is a fantastic young player, and would make an excellent addition to the squad at the Hawthorns.

It seems that Pulis is keen to get the transfer done, but will not be held to ransom by the Yorkshire club or by a tribunal panel, who will decide the fee should an out of court arrangement not be agreed.

£4 million should be enough to see a deal settled out of court, and Pulis should stump up the cash for the 23 year old.

The player is young, and has the potential to fill the left side of defence at the Baggies for many years to come.

Should he further progress and attract the interest of the top six, then a sizeable profit could be made on the player.

Pulis should stop playing hardball, and get this deal done as soon as possible.
