Stoke City supporters have been debating who they would like to see take over as the club's new permanent manager, following the Potters' announcing that Nathan Jones has been sacked with the club second bottom of the table.

The Potters have endured a miserable start to the Championship season, losing ten of their opening 14 matches of the campaign and winning just twice, leaving them joint bottom of the table and four points adrift of safety heading into their game against league leaders West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.

Jones' side had secured two successive wins against Swansea City and Fulham to raise some hopes of being able to produce an upturn in form, but the Potters' suffered back to back defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall to leave themselves further adrift at the bottom of the table.

Therefore it is little surprise that Stoke's board have finally decided it is time for a change in manager to try and help kick start a revival, and it is essential that the Potters select the right manager to take over from Jones if they are to manage to put together a run of form to move away from relegation trouble.

Stoke supporters have been suggesting the likes of Tony Pulis, Chris Hughton, Aitor Karanka, Nigel Pearson and Nigel Adkins as potential replacements, and all of those managers have experience in the Championship which will be vital for the Potters, having already tried a manager in Jones who needed time to adapt to a new division.

Whoever Stoke appoint as the successor to Jones has a massive task on their hands to turn around the club's form and mentality, and their first job will be to find a consistent team and shape so they can make the Potters more difficult to play against and beat.

Here, we take a look at what Stoke supporters have been saying about their choices to take over from Jones on a permanent basis...
