Quoted by Sky Sports in his regular predictions column, David Prutton has suggested that Millwall could well edge Swansea City this week in the Sky Bet Championship, as both sides look to challenge for the play-offs right up until the end of the campaign.

Millwall have started this mini-season pretty sluggishly, having picked up just the one point from their first two games back, and will want to get going again soon as they aim to close the gap to the top six back up.

Swansea, meanwhile, cruised past Middlesbrough and then lost to Luton Town, so both sides need a win here really to keep things on track.

For Prutton, though, it's the Lions who are going to emerge victorious by the narrowest of margins.

He said:

Millwall haven't quite got going yet after the restart, and their play-off ambitions are starting to drift away a little. They need to get a win soon.

Swansea missed a big chance to kick on at home to Luton on Saturday, and also need to get back on track so the sides above them don't start pulling away. They are a good side, but it remains to be seen whether they can deal with Millwall. I fancy a narrow home win here. 1-0.

The Verdict

Both sides are in need of three points from this game and so we should see plenty of endeavour and desire from the pair.

Millwall need a win having started poorly since the restart and if they lose this one, you've got to start wondering whether they'll be missing out on the play-offs this year.

For Swansea, the situation is pretty much the same with them just a point better off in the table.

Both can still make the top six this season, but losing here and results elsewhere going against them could spell curtains.
