Aston Villa picked up yet another invaluable win at the weekend in their pursuit of a top-six finish, as Dean Smith's men eased past Blackburn Rovers by two goals to one.

It's now five wins in five games for the Villans, who have hit form at the most perfect time of the campaign, propelling themselves into 5th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Villa were dominant throughout on Saturday afternoon - Tammy Abraham added yet another goal to his growing tally, whilst Tyrone Mings' solid work at the back was rewarded at the other end, guiding Villa to a 2-0 lead.

They were made to sweat late on when Amari'i Bell profited from a Jed Steer mistake, but on the whole, it was another comfortable performance from Dean Smith's men.

Going forward they looked as dangerous as ever, whilst going back, they were solid and composed, with Glenn Whelan putting in yet another fantastic performance in the holding midfield role.
