Bradford City were knocked out of the FA Cup last night after losing on penalties to Peterborough United in their second-round replay at Valley Parade. 

A thrilling 4-4 draw preceded the shoot-out in which the Bantams trailed 2-0 and 3-1 before taking the lead with 15 minutes remaining, only to be pegged back again.

Striker Ivan Toney fired the visitors into a commanding position with two goals inside 20 minutes, first firing home a ridiculous 50-yard free-kick from just past the half-way line before heading home a Marcus Maddison cross.

A goal for Maddison regained the visitor's two-goal lead after George Miller had pulled one back for David Hopkin's side.

But the second-half belonged, largely, to the home side. Goals from former Posh striker David Ball and Paul Caddis drew them level before Miller sent the home fans wild in the 72nd minute, making the score 4-3.

Toney was not to let them get away that easily, however, heading home for his hat-trick six minutes from time before going through on penalties.
