Sheffield United missed the chance to move top of the Championship after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday in the derby last night.

Chris Wilder's side were dominant throughout and really should've taken the lead in the first-half but David McGoldrick saw his penalty saved.

Despite almost constant pressure, they couldn't find a breakthrough and as the game progressed they began to run out of ideas, although Billy Sharp had a late chance with a header from a set-piece.

Ultimately, they had to settle for a point, which takes the Blades up to second in the league ahead of the fixtures this afternoon.

Many supporters recognised that the hosts were far superior to their local rivals and appreciated the intent that the players played with.

However, others were disappointed the lack of cutting edge cost them two points in the promotion race.
