Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley is a contender for the West Brom job as they look to appoint a long-term successor to Darren Moore.
The former player was sacked in March, with coach Jimmy Shan taking over on a caretaker basis until the end of the season. That came on Tuesday as the Baggies lost to local rivals Aston Villa in the play-off semi-final.
Therefore, the focus for the Albion hierarchy is to find a new manager and the BBC have revealed that Cowley is in the frame after the remarkable job he has done at Sincil Bank.
After bringing The Imps back to the Football League, they have gone up again this season in style, with Lincoln winning the league with ease and they will be playing in the third-tier next season.

However, the chance to move to the Championship may appeal to the 40-year-old and brother Nicky who is Cowley's assistant. The report also states that recently sacked Brighton boss Chris Hughton is a contender for the vacancy at The Hawthorns.
The Verdict
This is not the news that Lincoln fans will want to hear but the reality is that the job Cowley has done over the past few years is going to attract interest.
He has proven himself to be extremely talented and it does seem only a matter of time before a concrete approach is made by a club in the top two tiers.
If that's West Brom, it may be hard for Cowley to turn down as he will see a real opportunity to take them to the Premier League.
