It’s been an extremely tough start to the summer for Aston Villa, who are currently preparing themselves for their third consecutive season in the Sky Bet Championship.  

Failure to win promotion to the Premier League has left Villa in a vulnerable financial situation, with Dr Tony Xia, the club’s owner, writing an open letter confirming that player sales are on the agenda this summer.

However, Steve Bruce will still be looking to add to his squad in the coming weeks and months, with preparations now well underway ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
