Leeds United’s last Premier League appearance came in 2004, with the Elland Road club entering their 14th season outside the English top-flight.

The Whites came close to promotion in 2006, but since then have spent three-years in League One and are currently trying to win promotion back to the big time from the Sky Bet Championship.

Leeds, now under the management of Thomas Christiansen, are beginning to look like a club on the rise, with over 30,000 fans packed inside Elland Road on two occasions this week to witness victories over Burton Albion and Birmingham City.

Those victories have seen Leeds rise to the top of the Championship table after seven fixtures, with many now debating whether they can maintain their lead and end the club’s wait for a Premier League return.

Popular broadcaster, talkSPORT, have been debating Leeds’ position, asking Twitter if a club of their size deserves a place in the Premier League, which has brought plenty of reaction on social media.
