Many Cardiff City fans have responded to their fixture list for the 2019/20 season, ahead of their return to the Championship.

Cardiff, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, travel to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic on the opening day of the season.

After that, they welcome newly promoted Luton Town to the Cardiff City Stadium, before traveling to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading.

With Cardiff joining Swansea City in the Championship, the South Wales derby will be contested twice this season– at the Liberty Stadium on 26th October and at the Cardiff City Stadium on 11th January.

The Bluebirds' relegation also means two more Severnside derbies against Bristol City–the first a home fixture on 9th of November and the return leg at Ashton Gate on 4th April.

Neil Warnock's side will be targeting a short stay in the Championship and will be aiming for promotion this season, meaning their run-in could be key.

The Bluebirds finish looks tough, with Fulham, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Hull City their four final opponents.

On the back of a disappointing 2018/19 season, many Cardiff fans seem to be relishing the thought of life back in the Championship and reacted excitedly to the fixture announcement.
