Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they return to action after the international break this weekend.

The Owls have suffered a slight dip in form which has seen them slip out of the play-off places in recent weeks.

They face a tough test this weekend though, as they take on West Brom, who are currently sat top of the Championship table after 16 league games.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of their game against the Baggies, Garry Monk provided an important fitness update.

"Palmer and Nuhiu have come back in good health from internationals so we have a fully fit squad which is obviously good news."

This update will be a real positive for Monk, and he could have a potential selection dilemma on his hands, with players vying for a starting spot in the squad this weekend.

Nuhiu has struggled for consistent game time in the Sheffield Wednesday squad, although he could have given Monk a selection headache after impressive performances for Kosovo during the international break.

It seems unlikely that he'll be able to force his way into the starting XI ahead of Steven Fletcher, but the Owls boss could be tempted to start the 30-year-old alongside the in-form forward.

It's going to be a closely-fought battle between the two sides on Saturday at The Hawthorns, as they look to build some momentum heading into the potentially season-defining festive period.

The Verdict:

What a boost this will be for Sheffield Wednesday.

Having a fully fit squad is going to be a positive for any manager, and Garry Monk will be hoping that this latest update can see fierce competition for places in the Owls squad for the next coming weeks.

They're going to need to be at their best against West Brom this weekend, otherwise I struggle to see Monk's side coming away with anything to show for their efforts.
