There is a very good chance that Abel Hernandez will seal a move to Leeds United this summer.

According to Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are well down the line in agreeing a deal for Hernandez to arrive, with the journalist admitting on Twitter that there is a very good chance of a deal happening.

Leeds have been keen on a deal for the striker for some time now, with the YEP confirming the news last month.

Since then, Hernandez has departed Hull City, with the striker set to be a free agent.

The 27-year-old will end a four-year spell with Hull, which saw him score 39 goals for the Tigers.

Hernandez featured for two years in the Premier League and two in the Championship, with his spells in the second-tier proving to be prolific.

The 2015/16 campaign saw the striker score 21 goals, as Hull won promotion. Last season, Hernandez found his year plagued by injuries, but he still managed to score eight goals in 10 appearances.

The striker has teased that an update on his future is just around the corner, sharing a cryptic social media post:

The Verdict

This is really exciting news for Leeds, with it looking likely that Hernandez will be arriving at Elland Road in the coming weeks.

Of course, Leeds’ supporters will not be fully confident of sealing a deal, but all signs are pointing Hernandez in the direction of Elland Road.

Hay’s update will be well received in Leeds, with fans now awaiting some more official news.
