The talks with Marcelo Bielsa continue to drag on as the two sides struggle to come to an agreement.

According to BBC's Adam Pope, Leeds are looking at a contract sent by Bielsa, with the decision to accept the agreement in their hands.

The pressure on Leeds increases by the day because other clubs such as Sporting Lisbon are interested in hiring the Argentine, Bielsa will need as long a pre-season as possible to successfully implement his ideas, and Leeds fans grow in impatience especially as transfer business appears to be awaiting the outcome.

Accepting this agreement means that they would likely give significant power to Bielsa in regards to decisions around the club such as transfers, so it's understandable if Leeds aren't keen on accepting that because it could backfire on them if Bielsa isn't able to translate his ideas across successfully.

The Verdict

It might be frustrating for Leeds fans, but the board is doing the right thing because Bielsa has a history of walking out on clubs such as Lazio in 2016. Therefore, they need to ensure that they have a working arrangement which suits both sides and isn't going to lead to a chaotic departure.

Bielsa would be an ambitious appointment, but it isn't the end of the world if they don't hire him. There are other targets that would be suitable, if less exciting, such as Mick McCarthy and Steve Bruce. Although the pragmatic approach of Paul Heckingbottom wasn't popular, with fans quick to turn after he didn't produce results.
