The infrastructure at the club is believed to be the main issue causing the talks with Marcelo Bielsa to drag out.

According to Phil Hay, Bielsa wants assurances on how the club will be set up around him with money not an issue.

The talks have been ongoing for a while as the two parties have struggled to come to an agreement on this area. Bielsa is likely to want full control over anything related to the first-team especially transfer targets.

Leeds sacked Paul Heckingbottom at the beginning of June after a disappointing spell with the club, which saw them win four times in 16 games.

His time at Leeds was disappointed because of the lack of ambition and pragmatism shown, but Bielsa is the complete opposite which can have mixed results.

The Verdict

It's no surprise that the issue with Bielsa is how he wants the club to be set up because he needs a large amount of control to successfully implement his ideas and build his suqad. Otherwise he will be happy to leave the club because he is quite uncompromising in that regard.

They need to bring in a manager soon regardless of who it is, so they can start preparing for next season and get some transfer business done early. The longer they have to prepare for next season the better especially if they have Bielsa in charge because his methods are specific and require a deep tactical understanding, which can take a while for players to adjust to.
