Football League World's Queens Park Rangers fan pundit Louis Moir was quick to heap praise on the shoulders of young R's midfielder Luke Amos, with the youngster having put in a strong performance away to Barnsley in the club's recent defeat.

Amos has be in and out of the side under Mark Warburton this term, making 10 starts and four appearances as a substitute.

His recent performance against the Tykes will have definitely caught his manager's eye, with the 22-year-old finding the net twice in an impressive midfield display.

It is perhaps consistency that has been found lacking from the deep-lying playmaker's game, so maybe his recent showing could propel him to more of a regular starting spot under Warburton this term.

We caught up with Moir earlier this week to talk over the youngster's performance, and our fan pundit was quick to wax lyrical about the impact Amos made on Saturday:

"Luke Amos was probably our only positive from that embarrassing result away at Barnsley.

"You could say his two goals were fortunate but he showed the composure to slot them both away.

"He showed yet again what he’s capable of when he starts games and I think he’s starting to keep up with the pace of things too as he looks much fitter than what he did at the start of the season when he was coming back from an injury.

"I hope he can become a regular starter and I’m sure he will he if he carries on putting in these impressive performances.

"In recent weeks he’s impressed by keeping the ball well and not losing possession and overall he looks more comfortable."

Given the R's current form, it would be fair to assume that the midfielder could indeed nail down a starting spot in weeks to come, with several of QPR's midfield players having been out of sorts in terms of consistency lately.

Amos will be seeking to make another positive impact this weekend when the R's play host to fellow mid-table dwellers Charlton Athletic.
