Middlesbrough striker Martin Braithwaite remains a key member of Tony Pulis' first-team squad but will have to knuckle down to win back his place.

The Danish international was left on the bench during Boro's goalless draw at Leeds on Friday night, after asking to leave the club earlier in the week.

Pulis, whose side remain unbeaten this campaign, has no issues with the player, who has started the season brilliantly, scoring three goals in five Championship starts.

But how will 27-year-old Braithwaite be feeling?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

A little silly about not getting a move away, but he has to deal with it now.

Footballers are treated like newborn babies too often constantly needing reassuring.

They are paid large sums of money to kick a ball around, and if they don’t get their way, they sulk.

Martin Braithwaite remains at Boro, and he has to deal with that and continue to play to his best and give maximum effort in training.

He was happy scoring goals while linked with a move so he can do so again knowing his stay at the Riverside is going to last at least six months longer than he wanted.

Gary Hutchinson

A little bit silly.

That whole relationship has been toxic from the minute Pulis turned up. First they didn’t want him, now he doesn’t want them but once again, they’re all stuck with each other.

He started the season so well, all he needed to do was keep his mouth shut until January.

Silly man.

George Dagless

Probably a bit silly.

He started the season well and would have surely played a lot but instead he's sought a move and not got it.

His minutes will be limited initially again now and it's surely for the best he leaves sooner rather than later.
