Frank Lampard has enjoyed a good start to management with Derby County, with his side currently in eighth place just seven points off leaders Sheffield United after a solid start to the season.

Lampard though will need his complete squad at its best as he plans for the visit of the table-topping Blades as the weekend in the Rams' first fixture following the latest international break.

But as Lampard considers his squad who is the youngster within his ranks who will break through this season?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Luke Thomas.

Currently, on-loan at Coventry City until January, he has been putting on some stellar performances for the League One club this term and has been impressive.

No doubt Frank Lampard is keeping tabs on his progress at the Ricoh Arena.

With the loan only until the new year, that gives the Derby boss scope to see how he impresses with a view to introducing him into the first team on a regular basis.

If Thomas continues to do well in the third tier, a Pride Park spot on a regular basis could well be on the cards.

George Dagless

It's tough to say.

Derby have a big squad so barring a big injury crisis I don't see anyone else really breaking in right now.

I guess picking one you could argue Max Bird though he has a lot of competition for his spot.

Gary Hutchinson

Timi Elsnik is currently out on loan at Mansfield, but his early season form has suggested he might be ready to make the step up.

He’s an attacking midfielder capable of driving forward and getting into the box.

He’ll only benefit from the first team football at Field Mill.
