Norwich City, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City are all interested in St. Mirren midfielder Keanu Baccus, who will cost around £350,000 to sign this month.

The 24-year-old only joined the Scottish Premiership side in the summer but he has impressed, whilst he also did well at the World Cup with Australia.

Therefore, it's perhaps no surprise clubs are monitoring the player, with the Telegraph revealing that the three Championship sides are weighing up a move for Baccus in the January window.

The update states that a fee in the region of £350,000 would be required for St Mirren to sell, as he still has just under 18 months left on his contract.

Even though that contract situation means they are under no pressure to sell, the Buddies did announce losses of over £1.5m for the financial year recently, so any deal for Baccus could help on that front.

The Aussie has continued to play despite the transfer speculation, with his last game coming on Friday night when he played 66 minutes as St Mirren lost 1-0 at Hearts in the league.

The verdict

This could be a potential bargain for any Championship side as Baccus is still a relatively young midfielder who has a good all-round game.

He has shown in Scotland that he can mix it physically whilst his technical ability has also shone, and he played his part in what was a successful World Cup for Australia.

So, a move does seem inevitable for the player either in January or the summer and you would expect plenty more interest for the figures involved.
