According to Fotomac – via Sport Witness – Watford and Nottingham Forest remain keen on signing Mbaye Diagne when the summer window eventually opens up for business.
It is, of course, likely that the summer window is going to be different to many that we have seen in recent years with fees set to come down and spending likely to be curtailed.
Even so, teams are going to be wanting to strengthen their squad where they can and it appears Diagne continues to have interest in him, from Watford and Forest at least.
He’s set to return to Galatasaray after a loan at Club Brugge but the Turkish side are looking to sell him, according to the report, for around €5m and so we’ll soon see if the Hornets or Reds are willing to match that valuation.
Diagne appears to be at a bit of a crossroads with his career at the moment and there is clearly uncertainty around his future at the club in Turkey.
A move to England is being linked, then, and both Forest and Watford are being named as interested parties – though it remains to be seen if either decide to stump up the cash and you feel as though it might come down to which division they are in, respectively, next season.
