January could be a massive month for West Brom, with Darren Moore looking to add to his squad whilst also keeping several key men.

One potential addition that has been suggested is in-form Mansfield winger CJ Hamilton.

The 23-year-old has been fantastic for the Stags this season, contributing six goals and seven assists in an impressive individual campaign.

And, that form hasn't gone unnoticed, with Football Insider claiming that the Baggies have made an approach for the player, with Preston also interested.

But, would he be a good signing for Albion?

Our writers take a look...

Louie Chandler

It would be a pretty underwhelming signing.

He has done well for Mansfield but his goals and assists return does not point to someone who is about to set the world alight.

Good for squad depth but not much else.

Jacob Potter

It could be a smart bit of business by the Baggies.

Hamilton is a doing well, but I'm not sure where he would fit in at West Brom, especially due to the large amount of competition for places in Darren Moore's squad.

It would be a gamble for both parties involved, but it could pay off for West Brom if he hits the ground running.

Chris Gallagher

He'd be a decent signing.

The obvious concern would be whether he is needed to replace Barnes or Phillips who have been linked with moves away.

If Hamilton is a replacement for either player, it's a big ask and heaps a lot of pressure on him but he does have potential and will be desperate for a chance at this level.
