Callum Robinson has told the Lancashire Post that he believes Preston North End are well positioned to mount a play-off challenge.

Robinson added that Preston are happy to be chasing rather than being chased as they look to compete for a spot in the top six and a place in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

With just eight games to play, the race for sixth place is hotting up.

Sheffield Wednesday currently occupy that final spot in the play-off zone but they are faltering lately and are consequently being hotly pursued by a chasing pack of Fulham, Norwich City and Preston North End.

Callum Robinson's Preston are currently 9th but they are only separated from the play-off spaces by five points and the exciting winger is hoping that they can just keep picking up the wins to stay within a shout.

The 9-goal Preston star revealed to the Lancashire Post:

“This is a vital spell for us and the challenge is a big one.

“It is good to be doing the chasing rather than being chased and the aim is to get as many wins as possible and see where that takes us.

“Hopefully as the games go by, we can stay in and around the play-off positions.

“We will be ready for the run-in, we’ve trained well and had a few days’ rest during the international break."
