After a disappointing start to the season, Preston fans were left wondering if the summer signings had actually strengthened the squad.

But the Whites have massively improved in recent weeks and have pushed themselves up the table and far away from the bottom three.

However there is always room for improvement and a good transfer window in January may even prompt an ambitious play-off push.

One area of the market which Championship sides often take advantage of is the Premier League and it's at this stage of the season where the fringe players are ready for a move away.

With the departure of Joe Garner in the summer for £1.8m to Rangers, Simon Grayson could be looking to spend his money wisely and on a player who he believes could massively strengthen to Lilywhites.

In this article, FLW writer Tom Rawcliffe will identify 3 Premier League players who Preston should certainly look at signing.

Fraizer Campbell

It is a mystery as to why Fraizer Campbell is still on the books of Crystal Palace as he has arguably wasted the last year doing nothing.

The 29-year-old has made just 4 league starts since the start of last season and it seems like his time could be up in the Premier League so he may look for an escape route down to the Championship.

Campbell has previously shown his quality in the second tier with a highly respectable 22 goals in 46 league games for Hull and Cardiff.

Despite the good form of Jordan Hugill and the return from injury of Jermaine Beckford, Preston could arguably still benefit from some more talent up top to offer alternatives to Eoin Doyle and Simon Makienok and Campbell would certainly offer this.

Thierry Ambrose

Manchester City are known to send some of their fresh talent out on loan to the Championship and they may be looking to do the same in January with Thierry Ambrose.

The 19-year-old striker is yet to make an appearance in the professional game so a temporary move could do him the world of good.

He has a very impressive goalscoring record in the youth leagues, including the UEFA Youth Cup where he has managed 4 goals from 5 games.

Ryan Fraser

AFC Bournemouth player Ryan Fraser spent time in the Championship with Ipswich Town last season.

But Fraser and the Cherries made the joint decision for him to stay on this season and fight for his place which in all fairness, he has done.

The 22-year-old has worked his way into the matchday squad on occasions but he is certainly not playing as regularly as he would have hoped.

Another stint in the Championship could be on its way in January and if he were to end up at Deepdale then the left winger would certainly offer a lot of ability to Grayson's side.

Preston fans... Would you be happy to see any of these three join forces with your club? If you were to make one priority, which would it be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
