Preston North End are set to complete the permanent signing of Everton winger Aiden McGeady, according to a report in the Liverpool Echo.
The Scotland international has been on loan with North End this season and has impressed in the main in what has been an impressive season under Simon Grayson at Deepdale.
A fee of around £2.5m is being reported for the Everton man, who had failed to feature or be part of Ronald Koeman’s plans at Goodison Park.
The signing of McGeady on a permanent deal would be a great boost for Preston, who have consolidated themselves in the Championship this term and have fallen just short of making a run at the playoff positions.
McGeady has found his best form at times this season, and won the player of the month award in the Championship for February as Preston strung together a run of wins which saw them fly up the table.
Simon Grayson’s men were unlucky to lose to Huddersfield yesterday, falling 3-2 to a last minute winner against the promotion chasing Terriers.
Preston fans, what do you think? Happy with this signing? Let us know in the comments!
