Preston North End team news emerges as Nottingham Forest clash looms large

Preston North End boss Frankie McAvoy has offered a team news update ahead of his side’s weekend Sky Bet Championship clash with Nottingham Forest, as per club’s official Twitter account.

The Lancashire outfit have come into form at just the right time in the second tier, with their impressive victory over Luton Town last weekend quickly being followed up by a standout performance last night as they defeated the previously undefeated Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

This has seen Preston rise up to 15th as they start to look towards breaking into the top half ahead of their game against Forest on Saturday at the City Ground.

Speaking ahead of the game, McAvoy was quick to offer the following update on team news for North End:

Olosunde is a good option that offers pace down the right hand side and will certainly be a miss for Preston, with Tom Barkhuizen likely to continue in his place.

Quiz: Have each of these 24 ex-Preston North End academy players ever played in the Premier League?

Andy Lonergan

Whilst Evans is also a loss, North End will take solace from the fact that Emil Ris Jakobsen is continuing his fine form up top in the former’s absence.

The Verdict

Preston will have to learn to cope with their injury concerns, however they have certainly been doing a good job of it of late.

Their win over Bournemouth was a real statement to the rest of the league and they will be looking to build on it as they face another tough away trip to Forest.

The games are coming thick and fast at this time of year and McAvoy will no doubt be keen to rotate his squad where possible in order to avoid any further injuries or fatigue.

They are starting to build some momentum after a slow start to the season, so many Preston fans will be hoping that this form can continue.
