Preston's impressive early start to the season shows no signs of stopping, following their latest win on home soil at home to local rivals Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 2-0 at half time following an own goal by Declan Rudd and Sam Gallagher's first league goal of the season for Blackburn, Alex Neil's side produced a stunning second-half comeback with a Tom Barkhuizen double either side of a penalty from Daniel Johnson securing all three points, to help lift Preston up to second in the Championship table.

Given the circumstances, it is perhaps not surprising that there is a great deal of excitement around the club right now, something that a number of Preston's current squad do seem to be enjoying right now.

Here, we take a look at how some of them reacted to that victory over Blackburn in our latest social media roundup.

Patrick Bauer

In the absence of his regular central defensive partner Ben Davies due to injury, it was something of a difficult start to the clash at Deepdale for Patrick Bauer, as Blackburn raced into a two-goal lead.

Like the rest of his side however, Bauer would grow into the game, playing his part in keeping Blackburn's attack quiet during the second half to help Preston fightback for the win.

It seems Bauer was well aware of the way the game panned out judging by his reaction to the match on Twitter, with the German not holding back with his assessment of his side's first-half performance, but also paying tribute to his side's response later in the match.

While Bauer offered an in-depth analysis of the game, Maguire's response to his side's comeback was much more emphatic and emotional in the aftermath of the win.

The attacking midfielder, who was substituted in stoppage time to be replaced by Brad Potts after providing the assist for Barkhuizen for his side's opener, took to Instagram with a picture of his side celebrating after the winning goal, with a caption that simply reads: 'What a team'.

Darnell Fisher

Darnell Fisher meanwhile, would respond to the win in more simple ways.

Taking to Instagram after the game, the right-back simply posted two pictures. One of those showed him stood over a free-kick that seconds later he would fire expertly towards goal, forcing a brilliant save out of Blackburn 'keeper Christian Walton.

The other, showed the defender breathing heavily with his hands on his hips, emphasising the challenge that he and his teammates overcame on Saturday afternoon.
