Newly promoted Preston North End are keen on securing the services of Rangers midfielder Ian Black, according to Preston North End Mad.
Several sources are reporting that Black, who is out of contract in the summer at Ibrox, has a long-term admirer in North End boss Simon Grayson.
The former Leeds United boss is keen to bring the 30-year-old to Deepdale to bolster his midfield options.
The central midfield player made 35 appearances for the Gers last season and he scored three goals in the process.
Black does have a small portion of experience in English football having been a member of the Blackburn Rovers youth academy although he did leave without ever making a first-team appearance.
Grayson has identified the middle of the park as he looks to consolidate a Championship place, and Rotherham United midfielder Ben Pringle is another player he is said to be keen on.
The former Derby County man is attracting interest for several Championship sides and the Lilywhites boss will face competition should he pursue the 26-year-old.
